Why Do We Love Gadgets So Much?
Have you ever wondered why the gadget industry is so far apart from the rest of the retailing world? Despite the fact that there has been a huge drop in sales for many of the retailing giants around the world because of the worldwide economic crisis, gadget makers such as Apple, Nintendo and Sony have all continued to make profits.
The reason for this must be down to the fact that we view our gadgets with so much importance these days. Everything that we do in life seems to use some kind of gadget whether it is using android tablets to update statuses on the way to work or our kids playing with the latest handheld gaming devices while at the playground. But the scary thing is that these days we have so many gadgets that we cannot do without while just ten years ago things like this were the stuff of science fiction movies.
We have been relying on iPhones for a number of years now but although it is considered to offer superb functionality, it is also chosen for fashion reasons. What it did however, was to begin the explosion in the apps market. What started on the iPhone has grown in to an industry across many platforms. Every day more and more manufacturers move over to android and open source based apps to reduce cost and encourage developers and customers to explore every possibility.
These days we are seeing phones that can be used to pay for things in stores instead of having to use the plastic in our wallets; it was not that long ago that the biggest thing about a phone was the use of Sat Nav technology. The Nintendo DS can now do so much more than was ever intended for it simply with the use of a mod cartridge. With so many breakthroughs in technology it is becoming hard to recognise when great innovation takes place but you won't find many complaining about that.
R4i are widely-used in lot of products today. An RD card is a great example. Yet another thing that you may see widely available is the ps3 jailbreak.
